I've seen patients take antibiotics and Byetta at the same time. What is the problem with taking them together? In fact the endo told the patient she could take them together. Help please.

Hi, The absorption of oral antibiotics may be decreased or delayed by exenatide, leading to decreased efficacy of the antibiotic. They may be safely used together if the antibiotic is taken 1 hour before the exenatide. Laurie Anderson, RNP
