I'm starting to see more patients on Januvia. She states it decreases fasting and post prandial blood glucose. I'm seeing improvement in post prandial blood glucose, I can't say I'm seeing it in fasting glucose levels. I have to say I haven't had a lot of experience with it yet, but this is what I'm seeing on a few patients in a few months. Anyone else have anything to say? More experience?

I've had the same experience. And, for me it's been limited but I've seen the same. We're adding metformin to help the fastings.

Re: Januvia

Janumet 50/1000 BID or Januvia 100 mg QD seem to work the best as far as both 2h pp and fasting bg levels go. Reduction in A1C seen=0.6-0.9%- in  25 of my patients (out of 50+)  who are on either one of the therapies for the past 3+ months. Needless to say, these patients are doing their part in diabetes management  ,ie eating healthy, paying attention to food portions and exercising x3 for at least 30+ minutes each session. Thanks.
