Looking for RDs Who Do Medicare MNT in Pharmacies: Need Your Help!
Section:  General Diabetes

Hi Everyone,

I am working with a national membership association to open more a whole lot more doors for RDs to furnish Medicare-reimbursable MNT in pharmacy practice settings.

This is a fantastic “quadruple win”….that is, a win for:

1)Medicare beneficiaries

2)RDs

3)Referring physicians

4)Pharmacies

BUT, I need your help!

Do any RDs (or other diabetes professionals that work with RDs who furnish MNT)  currently furnish Medicare MNT in a pharmacy setting?

If YES, would you mind replying and letting us know:

a)If Medicare Part B is being billed for the MNT that the RD furnishes to the pharmacy patients

b)If you, as the RD, bill Medicare directly (or a biller does) and you then keep the reimbursement

OR

c)If you have re-assigned your Medicare reimbursement back to the pharmacy, as you are a paid employee of the pharmacy

The bloggers can learn from your replies with regard to alternative practice settings in which RDs can furnish much need MNT for our diabetes and pre-dialysis renal disease Medicare beneficiaries.  At the same time, I will be able to use this valuable information to open more doors in this newer setting for RDs to do MNT in!
